The Tetbury Shop

A fine Georgian building on Market Place offered ample room for part-time living as well as plenty of space for a studio, fitting room and, of course, a ‘real’ as opposed to ‘virtual’ shop window.

Time and space allowed me to pursue my passion – recycling and reusing old clothes and materials to refashion what may well have been thrown away to create fresh new clothing, accessories, fabulous tote bags and cushions. Found linens and laces and all kinds of wonderful materials served to further expand possibilities. Alongside the more couture private commissions, it was fun displaying a bounty of these and more traditional items.

It was good also to be a part of a community and a joy to be a modest part of the crowd that helped realise the New Arts Centre which was opened by HRH Prince Charles. We never stop learning, but what with one thing and another it became impossible to justify keeping two homes and I returned full-time to the Pyrenees.
